November was cool and rainy so I was able to spend sometime in the Casita sorting through papers and shredding, and finishing the painting and polyurethane the wood in the tiny house. I still was not able to move Tiny over to my lot. So I decided that I would go and spend a few days with some friends in Texas. I left here on Friday found a campsite there in Hobbs and went into church on Sabbath. Sabbath afternoon I left and went down to my son’s place in Odessa and spent a couple of days with him. I did a little shopping for my new home while I was there. Then on Tuesday I left and started down to my friend’s place. When I travel I tried to take the roads off of the interstate and see some of the backcountry. I got down to Sterling City and wanted to take a picture of the County Courthouse that is is there.I took my phone and started to walk up to the courthouse and realized that my phone was not charged and had shut off. So I’m back in the van, plugged in my phone and waited 10 or 15 minutes when I tried to turn on the phone it would not turn on. I looked to see how much charge I had, which was about 15% and it should have turned on, well I waited. And I tried again and still I couldn’t get it to turn. I had my tablet with me so I was able to capture a few pictures while I was there. So now what was I to do, I’m in a tiny little town with no cell phone store and no phone. My friend’s place was still a couple hours away. Her directions to their place was on my phone. I couldn’t even call her, or my son. But there was a Family Dollar Store. So I went to the Family Dollar Store and bought a prepaid phone they were kind enough to help change over the SIM card and I was able to at least make a phone call. I had not written thier phone number or directions down on paper. So now how to find my friends. I had to recall on my memory to what I had read on my text of where their place was. I thought I knew which way to go but the side roads didn’t much up. I then realized I was taking the wrong road. There was other road that it could have taken, so I turned around and went that direction and lo and behold through the grace of God I was able to find their place! They were quite amazed that I was able to find their place without having directions to follow. They have a beautiful acreage in mesquite country of Texas which they have been working on their place for a year or so. It’s coming along beautiful! I was able to help with the green house. They will have quite a garden this spring. I’m sorry I didn’t get pictures of their place, guess I was to caught up in helping and visiting.

On my way back I drove through Robert Lee, Texas, beautiful country I must go back and enjoy the lake there. I stopped at Garden City Texas and took a few pictures.

Then on to my son’s place in Odessa a few days. Then back to my place at the “Ranch”. I spend Thanksgiving with my neighbors we had a great meal together.

After Thanksgiving I decided to step out in faith that I would be able to put tiny house on my lot. I went ahead and ordered the portable waste tank and had my neighbor work on my water connection. And then I went into the Motor Vehicles Department in Artesia and worked on getting the tiny house registered for New Mexico. With some difficulties they registered Tiny as a RV. When I got back from the Motor Vehicles Department I told my neighbor, who is on the board of the RV park, that I’d gotten the tiny house registered as an RV. She then went to talk to them about making the decision to whether I could put my house on my lot or not. I had become so frustrated and becoming discouraged, she kept encouraging me to hang on and wait. One day I had gone into town to get groceries when I got back I decided to rest for a while and then I get a knock on my door and she is standing there saying they have accepted my tiny house and I can move it over to my lot! So that afternoon I unloaded the camper, most everything went into the Casita. The next morning I got up and went out and started getting the camper ready to be pulled off of my lot. Within just a short while the tiny house was on my lot and we got the Wastewater and the water hooked up and the power plugged in. It was exciting to flip the switch to turn the power on run the water! I was HOME! PRAISE GOD!

The Sabbath after I had gotten my tiny house in I went into Roswell for church and then out for the afternoon for Drive around Bitter Lake. I saw Lots of ducks and geese cranes, it was a good day . After Sabbath, I went over to Home Depot and picked up my fridge. Sunday my neighbors came over and brought the refrigerator in the house.
So the next few days was spent bringing my things over from the Casita.
By the end of the next week I had my bed in the tiny house and most of my things , was ready to be home.

Christmas Eve day I went to Hobbs for church and they had a beautiful Christmas program which I enjoyed. From there I drove down to my son’s place and spent Christmas with him.
Well another year is over it’s been quite a year. With all the ups and downs and arounds, excitement, disappointments, sadness, and joys, the year was filled with. It’s time for a new beginning and anticipation for what a new year will bring. I will try to be more aware of what I am doing and what’s happening around me. So maybe I can get a few more pictures posted in the new year.
So with that, thank you for coming alongside me this past year may there be many blessings for you and your families and Friends.
